Tim is the son of Rev. Dennis and Carolyn Ross. He grew up in Alto, Michigan and graduated from Caledonia High School (2002). While at Caledonia High School, Tim participated in cross country, basketball, and track & field, setting numerous school, conference, and state records as a runner. Tim continued his running career at the University of Missouri (B.A. English, 2007), having the privilege of serving as captain of the cross country and track & field teams his senior year.
However, it wasn’t until the close of his college career that Tim made obeying and serving Jesus Christ a priority in his life. Upon graduation he returned home to work and serve alongside his parents in the local church. After a brief season of seeking God’s will, and feeling the tug to full time ministry, Tim enrolled at The Master’s Seminary (Sun Vallley, CA) in the Fall of 2008 (MDiv, 2013). At the same time, he began serving in Children’s Ministry at Grace Community Church (Sun Valley, California). For the next seven years, Tim would serve in numerous capacities in Children’s Ministry, relishing his time spent among the faithful volunteers and pastoral staff at Grace.
It was also at Grace that Tim was introduced to his wife, Julia Ross, at a campus Bible study. Tim and Julia, along with their four children, arrived at Nevins Lake Church (Stanton, MI) in July 2015. Having desired to serve alongside Tim’s parents for many years, Tim and Julia are thrilled to assist Tim’s Dad as well as serve the children, youth, and adults of Nevins Lake Church. Tim’s main areas of responsibility include: leading the Juniors (2nd to 5th grade) ministry, youth group (6th to 12th grade), teaching a weekly Sunday School class for younger adults, teaching once a month on Sunday nights, serving as Awana Commander, and maintaining the church's website and social media account.
